5G - The Sequel

5G Pursuant to my recent ramblings on this subject, 5G is suddenly back in the news. It seems that folk are taking the law in their hands and causing conflagrations in the close vicinity of 5G masts. How exciting! Perhaps they read my blog and decided that they don't want to be surveilled! More likely, and as reported, someone had told them that 5G spreads Coronavirus. Now, if this Corona thing is actually a virus, as we are assured, then it can only be transmitted by contact and close proximity, not by radio waves.

The more interesting discussion however is: what effects do radio waves have on the human body? Do they suppress the immune system? Are they carcinogenic as many claim? There is no shortage of cancer victims in the world, that's for sure. Is there a link with drastically reduced fertility rates – blokes firing blanks? Children absorb radio waves more readily than adults. On his televisual programme recently Eamonn Holmes got to wondering this out loud. Oh! What trouble he found himself in. What on earth did say? What he said was in response to the consumer editor's remark that this immunity suppression theory is 'not true and incredibly stupid'.

'I totally agree with everything you are saying but what I don't accept is mainstream media slapping that down as not true when they don't know it's not true. No one should attack or damage or do anything like that, but it's very easy to say it's not true because it suits the state narrative. That's all I would say, as someone with an inquiring mind.'

For this he was hanged, drawn and quartered, burned at the stake and forced to recant. Or a sort of modern day version of such. What the Roman Catholic Church liked to do with anyone who disagreed with their version of 'Christianity'.

Yet, who is more dangerous? The enquiring person who seeks honest answers or those who do the 'slapping down'? Amol Rajan gleefully reported this episode on the six o'clock news on Radio 4 on Tuesday 14th April. I cannot find his exact words but he was completely, and quite disrespectfully, dismissive. The thrust of his report was that there is no evidence for such claims. His slapping down was effective. Suddenly I was alert because my inquiring mind wants to know why there is no evidence. Is it because the subject has been thoroughly, exhaustively and impartially studied? Or is it missing because nobody has bothered to look? Or indeed did someone start to look and then get silenced? 5G is big business, powerful corporations, big money. And running to a gratuitous rescue is the BBC providing unnecessary succour through half-truths and selective reporting. Disinformation without actually lying.

In my naivety, I formed the impression that journalism was all about presenting verified facts in an objective manner. To provide that verification, the journalist has to ask questions, seek answers and provide evidence to support his conclusions. If falsehoods are circulating, his role is to identify them and state why they are false. He is to seek expert opinion for all sides of the argument. If the evidence is inconclusive or incomplete then he is to say so and not fill the void with his own opinions. The role is not to provide an effective PR campaign for, in this instance, Big Wireless. The industry is big enough, ugly enough and wealthy enough to wage its own propaganda warfare. The role is to hold them to account. In this, Mr Rajan has failed. The fact remains that the immune system is very susceptible to its environment. Many things affect its efficacy - a poor diet, stress and anxiety, tiredness and exhaustion and underlying illnesses are all known to suppress immunity.

Radio waves are harmful. High frequency, high intensity micro-waves are used to cook your food. You wouldn't place your pet chihuahua in a microwave oven to dry him out after a walk in the rain – as one woman is alleged to have done. Possibly apocryphally. Killed it stone dead! The American military have developed a directional radio millimeter-wave beam for causing pain without injury. ADS, they called it: Active Denial System. Having a 5G phone will not allow you to do that or cause anyone immediate harm. It is the cumulative effect that raises concern. The amount of electromagnetism in our environment is vast and growing exponentially. 5G will not replace 4G; it will be a whole new layer in addition to what is already out there. Of course, if nobody ever purchased a 5G device, the whole project would collapse and that would be that. Bizarrely, people will flock to the sales emporia in the billions. Many will have been blinded to the consequences. Others will know but will carry on anyway. But the urge of materialism will be irresistible. One source I consulted likened this to the Roman public water supply. Advanced, convenient, brilliant. But the pipes were made of lead and everyone was slowly being poisoned.

So journalists, one and all. If you can prove that electromagnetism is harmless, then slap away. Otherwise be responsible and do your job properly.
